Relax and enjoy a 2 day / 2 night get-away in Erris with Dúlra Nature Tours while learning the skills of catching, preparing and cooking your own sea food.
Arrival in Erris
Day 1At Sea
Jump on board “Dúlra Na Mara” our custom tour boat where our qualified local skipper will guide you through the unique experience of hooking, identifying, filleting and preparing your fresh catch.
We will break for lunch on the stunning uninhabited Inishkea Islands. Take a tour where stories and legends will be told of these resourceful island people and how their livelihood depended on the ocean around them. Standing amongst the village ruins you can imagine how these islands have supported mankind from prehistoric times up to 1936.
Back On Dry Land
Back on the main land we Return to base, roll up the sleeves and with the help of our local sea food expert learn the many delicious ways to prepare, cook and serve your valuable catch. Relax with a glass of wine and enjoy the flavors of your healthy day's work.
Day 2After a hearty breakfast we take a walk through the heritage-rich landscape of North Mayo brought to life by our local guide. Visit the villages which became the new homes of the Inishkea people. Walk along the rugged and remote coastline of Erris Head taking in the breathtaking scenery. Witness some of the many nesting birds and marine mammals who are regular visitors to this area.
On returning to base enjoy one last healthy feast with the Dúlra Nature Tours team before departing with the memories of your fun-filled and educational experience.
